Expanded polystyrene Bead Bags are purchased in 12- 15 pound bags, largely from ground, recycled EPS. Typically used for horticultural applications with dirt, and sold to customers to mix with Peet Moss to assist in aireation for example.
Rectangular piece of flat cut sheet foam that is cut and shaped to fit the inside of a box, container, or tote to cushion your delicate items. Contoured Packaging with PSA
This category of EPS can be any 2D shape that can be curved, flat, straight, radiused, angled or a combination of all of the shapes 54 inches high by 16 feet long to a depth of 10 feet.If you can draw it on a piece of paper as s flat 2d object, we can make it. PSA is a pressure sensitive adhesive is a poly backed film that has a release liner on it that is typically applied to corrugated shipping materials.

EPS cornices resemble wooden cornices that are usually cut 8 feet in length and are installed as easily as cornices made of wood. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam cornices can be painted with a non-oil based paint or coated with a hard coat application. Higher density foam is typically used because the finish has a smoother appearance and is much more rigid. Michigan Foam Products can also make specialty cornices if you have a need for architectural replacements for old "period architecture cornices" if you are updating an older home. Light weight, moisture resistant, and with good resilience.
EIFS - Exterior insulation and finishing system
EIFS is a type of exterior wall cladding system. While Michigan Foam Products does not sell entire assembled EIFS panels, we do fabricate the expanded polystyrene (EPS) sheeted foam for its inner panels. Any density of EPS between 1 pound and three pound is possible depending on the R-Value necessary for your application.
EIFS consist of an EPS insulation board attached either with adhesives or with standard mechanical fasteners, to the layers below it, usually plywood or OSB, and finished off with a textured protective finish coat. EIFS units usually are non-load bearing.
Exterior EPS sheathing can be used for above ground or below ground insulation to increase R-Factor in walls, or 2 to 3 inch thickness of one pound density foam below ground to comply with new codes of 2015 that add the sheathing to be adheared to the outside of the exterior concrete wall all the way down to the footing itself of the home's foundaton to give insualtion factor from the 55 degree ground. When energy savings is taken into consideration, sheathing the foundation makes perfect sense.
An EPS foam roofing insulation material to fill in voids and normally is installed over old existing roofing materials. It is the best lightweight and energy efficient answer to increase R-Value and supply a rigid sub-structure before new roof system is applied. Call one of our sales engineers for any custom shapes, densities, or sizes.
Geofoam expanded polystyrene (EPS) is perfect for below grade construction projects that need a stable, weather resistant EPS foam has low moisture absorbtion, lightweight, and easily cut and modified at your construction site. Geofoam is used as a replacement for traditional fill soil materials. Geofoam blocks are made in eight foot lengths at Michigan Foam Products so they can be placed very quickly onsite. Geofoam is up to 100 times lighter in weight than conventional soil. Because Geofoam is so light, workforce labor needed onsite is also reduced. Geofoam has been used across the country on massive road projects in more than 20 states so far, and with full support of the Federal Highway Administration. Used around the world since 1972, Europe and Japan have seen thousands of Geofoam projects completed ... and usually much quicker and cost effective than any other method used. Go To Geofoam Page
Pre-Cast Concrete Pipe - Ellipticals
EPS ellipticals are used for pre-cast concrete drainage pipes. Michigan Foam Products EPS ellipticals are lightweight, inexpensive, and will aid in creating perfect hole forms
Interior Wall Insulation
Michigan Foam Products interior wall insulation sheets typically are 2" to 4" thick x 48" x 96". The densities of our wall insulation can be between 1# and up to 3# density. Easy way to increase R-Value while maintaining a rigid shape for support. Huge selection of thicknesses and foam densities in various widths. Easy to cut and mold and mildew resistant. Quick installation makes EPS interior wall insulation a breeze with simple tools. Another benefit to EPS wall insulation is its inherant abilty to even out rough areas.
Component packaging is ideal for a firm, tight fitting containment EPS product packaging solution that keeps products in place at all times. Because of its thermal qualities, EPS can be used for most applications that demand shape-cut tolerances with hot or cold resistance and insulative qualities if needed. Density of foam can also be produced for your precise need.
Corner pads are a very low cost, efficient way to protect your items by applying the pads just to the corners themselves. This is best when you don't need to cover the entire item being shipped. The best part is you still have a rigid solution without the expense. Using EPS just for the corners saves on cost and overall shipping weight of your package while keeping your item centered and away from the edge of the package itself.
Dunnage is a shipping material, in our case, EPS foam, that is added to a box or container as the primary support of the items being shipped. Dunnage can be cardboard, foam, or plastic. Michigan Foam Products can cut dunnage is many different sizes, and densities of EPS foam. Everything from loose fill to solid pieces that are chosen by factors such as part weight, budget, and container size. It can be blocks, or intricately wire cut CNC slots to hold parts in place.
Protection on the edge of a product sometimes is all that's necessary. With EPS edge protection you will get maximum protection against impact, jarring, shock, and vibration during shipment, and with minimal amount of EPS.
Project and Hobby Foam
When we put our expanded polystyrene foam into the hands of a creative hobbyist amazing things can happen. With a simple hot-wire cutter, and other elemental cutting and shaping tools, the hobbyist can fashion model railroad structures and landscaping, lightweight radio controlled aircraft, frames and project stands for artwork, or ornamental figurines for their yard. The eps foam from Michigan Foam Products enhances creativity. Rigid and water resistant, eps can serve the hobbyist in hundreds of ways.
Excellent for a weather resistant, energy efficient, solution to increase R-Value of your roof. Roofing insulation densities typically are: 1#, 1.25# and 1.50#. EPS roof insulation has excellent thermal capabilities that make it a popular choice in cold or warm climates without affecting its strength or perfomance.
This is one of the most open-ended types of EPS foam we manufacture at MFP. The thickness of our EPS sheeted foam could be as small as ¼"; , with a tolerance of 1/16", all the way up to the full thickness of a trimmed foam block (37 inches). EPS sheeted foam can go all the way up to 60" wide and 16 feet long. Quite versatile, and with a multitude of densities as well that gives the customer numerous options for whatever solution they may need. Used primarily for bracing, cushioning, and stabilizing contents during shipment. There are so many options in this category, you may call on eof our sales engineers for further information.
Sheeted Goods with PSA
This type of EPS is identical to regular sheeted goods except for the addition of PSA or, pressure sensitive adhesive to enable the EPS foam to adhere to another surface. This is an excellent option if you need the EPS foam to stay firmly in place with no slipping or movement.
Under Concrete-Sheeted Goods
Below slab EPS foam is the perfect answer to modern energy efficient home building construction and commercial construction alike. The rigid, high R-Value composition of EPS foam adds an important element to a contractors ability to offer homeowners a way to seal the slab floor and the exterior basement walls from heat loss in the long winters months, as well as the air conditioning in the summer months. Normally, a two inch layer throughout is sufficient for residential homes, but thickness may vary for your application. EPS foam is known to be better at shedding moisture and less water retentive over time than XPS (blue or pink board) foam, making it a perfect replacement for XPS foam.
